As part of that release, reporter Nicole Blake-Johnson will reveal how much JROTC instructors earn (Hint: It surprised me). She'll also show what instructors do to earn their salary and how the JROTC program impacts graduation rates.
No doubt releasing salary data will be controversial. It was when we published how much area police and firefighters earned.
But citizens have a right to know what they are paying public employees, and that's why The Times is committed to making the information available.
As the year progresses, we'll release salary information for other public workers. Drop me a line at alisonbath1@gannett.com if there is specific salary data you'd like to see.
